Our plan today was to scout as much as possible, hoping to discover new tiles and locales. Little did we know how successful (and dangerous) this would be! Starting out from the town the start of the adventure was relatively uneventful. However after scaling the first mountain we found a great view of the surrounding area, updating the map hugely. Here we also got into a fight with two griffins, Belrith and Fae’ael managed to take them down before they could escape.
We also discovered a Dwarven tomb here, the markings say it was the Lord of Brass Hammers tomb. This seemed to be an adventure in its own right so we marked it down and continued scouting.
Soon we travelled into an area surrounded by a massive supernatural thunderstorm, and began seeing creatures and land damaged by some sort of creature. It threw an Ettin and left it impaled on a tree! We also again spotted a dragon, and updated its rough range on the map.
Travelling through the mountains was tough, but we got lucky the first few nights. On the third however we met the cause of this mountainous destruction: a powerful air elemental. The fight was tough, ending with our party wounded and Florian reasoning with the air elemental to let us leave. It agreed restating that we should leave this area (mountains). Future missions here should be made carefully to try and avoid this powerful foe.
In the midst of the mountains we discovered a grasslands valley. It contained a serene looking lake with an island in the middle holding a large orange tree. As it was too deep to cross without a boat or other magical means we made note of it and continued our journey home.
We discovered a new quest which was added to the board “Strange Tempest” – dealing with the storm we discovered.
