Reminding the party that there was a strange Green Knight south of Anderson Farm who wanted a fight, Florian recruits Eddrick (his retainer) Raoul, Fae’ael, Ishum and Naharmutu to journey with him for this challenge. Heading south from Anderson farm, they manage to make it through the mountains, getting only a little lost in the process. Sleeping that night in the mountains they are ambushed by air elementals and although the fight is successful, Eddrick is almost thrown off the cliff, questioning why he was brought on this mission as he is a rogue not a fighter. Reassuring Eddrick that he is a useful asset to the team, Florian leads the party onward.
That morning the group manage to make it down to the Recreant – Green Knight, being only slightly waylaid by a group of perytons, an enemy Fae’ael recognizes from some previous encounters. Significantly less powerful than their cousins Fae’ael had fought the troop quickly vanquishes them as warm up for their fight later that day, Eddrick faring much better.
Arriving in a clearing, they face down the Green Knight, offering to fight him in a one on one. He tells the adventurers to fight him all together, and they agree. The Knight quickly shows that he is not alone as wolves, boars and a bear erupt from the forest and hone in on the party. Yelling for the group not to kill the animals, Fae’ael launches into the Green Knight with a volley of arrows, but he is slippery as he dodges out of the way of her barrage and creates a mist that cuts off vision for everyone.
The animals then launch through the mist quickly surrounding Naharmutu and Florian, who take the brunt of the blows. Unperturbed by the darkness Florian swings out, but is unable to connect as the bear faces off with Naharmutu, and vines erupt out of the ground pinning the elemental in place as the Knight appears and summons lightning down onto the group, before he ignites his blade with fire and charges into the fray. Raoul quickly teleports out of the mist and alongside Eddrick provides aid from afar.
Despite the lightning severely damaging many combatants, and Fae’ael taking a dangerous blade full of fire to her side, the party is just victorious, managing to slay the Green Knight with a final blow of Florian’s mace. Recuperating Fae’ael heals up Naharmutu, Ishum and herself. As Eddrick and Raoul ask what the problem was, the rogues once again avoiding the brunt of the damage. As the party dissolves into friendly bantering they loot the corpse of the Green Knight, recovering a ring of animal influence, wayfarers’ boots, and a pair of bonded bracelets.
Florian dives into the lake at the end of the clearing, and although he fails to find another Fey creature, he does recover a significant amount of gold. Divvying out the loot, Fae’ael claims the boots, Florian the ring and Ishum and Naharmutu the bracelets, allowing the large elemental to now shoot eyes beams out of their eyes. Raoul meanwhile is content with the gold. Resting here for the night ,the party set out to explore the south of their continent, but after spotting a dragon of some sort in the sky, decide to quickly make their way home.
Although Fae’ael’s new boots enable her survival skills to be of an exceptional level, she still manages to get the party somewhat lost. Cursing Lady Luck, the party eventually returns without running into a dragon, and speak of their victorious combat; Eddrick swearing never again to join another dangerous fight, although bound to Florian as he is, his wish may never be met.
