Characters: Fae’ael, Belrith, Raoul, and Ishum
Starting off strong on our way to the mountain peak cave, Fae’ael instantly gets us lost. Belrith takes charge and gets us back on track and we sleep uninturrupted. However, the next morning Fae’ael gets us lost again.
We turn a corner and are attacked by a cyclops!
Fae’ael shoots it before running away. The cyclops moves up and smashes Belrith with his club. Ishum and Naharmutu step forward and engage the cyclops, dealing a hefty blow. Belrith shifts away and gets hit again by the club. Raoul is locked in fear, and his third eye turns black—the cyclops instantly falls asleep.
Naharmutu grabs hold of the sleeping cyclops’s head and shakes it violently and waking it up and confusing it. Fae’ael takes the opportunity to shoot it with an arrow, and Beltith smites it dead with a powerful blast of magic.
Continuing on our journey, Fae’ael continues leading us astray, eventually we setup camp in the mountains and sleep.
A bulette ambushes us in the night. It leaps into the air and lands on Fae’ael and Raoul. Raoul narrowly evades it and stabs up at its exposed gut. Meanwhile Naharmutu causes the rocks around the creature to move and restrain the beast while Ishum fails to hit it. Raoul, Belrith, and Fae’ael continue battering the bulette; with Fae’ael dealing the killing blow. The party goes back to bed, hoping to get some amount of rest.
Setting out in the morning, Fae’ael finally manages to lead us true, and we reach the peak of the mountain.
Atop the mountain we see the vast ocean to the northeast, and a lone island with a volcano in the distance. Perhaps the location we’ve seen in the mosaic back in Sophia’s Rest?
Entering into the cave, we attempt to sneak through quietly. Quickly we discover some unstable terrain. Fae’ael tries to climb on the walls to avoid it, but falls. Landing twenty feet down. The group all makes its way to the other side of the pit without issue, except Belrith who cannot see in the dark and struggles to get across.
Up ahead some humans are spotted. Naharmutu walks out of a nearby wall and acts very intimidating, meanwhile the rest of the group begins their assault on the presumed bandits.
The bulk of the humans flee deeper into the cave, but several are picked off by the ranged members of the group while Fae’ael shouts for them to surrender.
Naharmutu pursues the enemies deeper into the cave, melding through the walls to outpace them and leaving his allies behind. A huge chamber is revealed with a mass of enemies. They quickly swarm the earth elemental, and batter him. Raoul quickly teleports into the room and takes some of the heat off of Naharmutu.
Naharmutu throws a boulder and several minions crumple. Raoul, with magic speed, shoots a couple. The bandits have mages among their rank who cast several spells towards the intruders. Fae’ael then teleports into the room to protect Naharmutu, while Belrith and Ishum finally make it into the room.

Naharmutu nearly goes down, but is saved by his allies. But does go fall when a wizard blasts the group with a magical ray.
In response, Belrith casts a healing spell and everyone feels a little better. For now.
Ishum cuts down one of the remaining heavy fighters while Naharmutu crushes the remaining minions. Raoul takes aim at the mage and lands a solid shot, but it’s not quite enough.
The wizard casts a fireball, knocking Belrith and Naharmutu down. Fae’ael brings Belrith back up, who then casts a big healing spell to bring Naharmutu up and sooth the wounds of others. The outlook seems bleak.
Ishum swears and charges the remaining archers, Naharmutu does the same and charges the other group of archers. Raoul is exhausted as haste wears off, and lays hidden on the outskirts of the battle.
Rallying, Fae’ael and Belrith gather themselves and take out the wizard. Raoul, gathering his strength, takes a final shot at one of the remaining archers and downs them as Naharmutu obliterates the last standing enemy.
Looting the large cavern, it’s learned that these bandits have been here for several weeks. The ones here were just a fraction of their entire organization, the others having moved to a forested valley three days to the west. They also made note of a clockwork door somewhere within twelve miles, it’s noted on the “Boss’s map” wherever they may be now.
After resting for the night we set out for home in the morning, battered and bruised. Our travels go without major incident and we arrive at Rusty’s fort the following day.
