We travelled to the anderson farm along the road, finding both animal tracks and ogre tracks. For once we even got a full nights sleep out and about at the anderson farm!
As is tradition once we got to the anderson farm we immediately got lost before getting back on the well worn track and found our way to the cave.
We entered the cave, it was dark but there was a breeze. After some aiding and turning on the light right we decided to go to the left. In the first chamber we found a partially hidden pit. On the other side we find a chest and grubs, the chest is tricked by Florian into eating some grubs, revealing it as a mimic! At the start of the fight more bugs drop from the ceiling, but we are victorious. We loot 40gp, a Map of a building (old and unlabeled). Page torn from a spellbook (fine vellum unreadable by us).
After this we continued to the left (labyrinth rules). We found a stash, 30 gp some marbles and a pouch inside a pouch filled with fine sand. The sand is magic! The marbles are not. Florian sniffs it. The next room seems empty but suddenly a fight begins with a stalker and darkmantles. We find a statue with a dagger wound in the back of its head, and in the next room we find a magic dagger. It fits the statue’s wound and opens a secret door resident evil style. This connects to a large chamber in the middle. We keep meandering left. This leads to a lower chamber. There are cute bugs, unfortunately they have loot in their nest so they must be smashed. We rummage through their home and find 100gp, a weird clockwork device jammed up with sand and bug juice. After this we took a breather.
After this things so went sideways. Florian explored a little and disappeared, Belrith tried to open a curtain and it turned out to be a cloaker. Then Bats, so many bats attacked. The surviving stalker also joins the fight. We are luckily victorious.
Behind this is a worked stone area with mosaics on the floor. In it we find a tiny figurine, a copper coin with two heads and 449 gp. The mosaic is a repeating motif of white brown and blue colours. There is a stairway up here but we decide against going there.
In the other section of this floor we find another isopod lair with some loot, the sort of stuff you would expect from people. It’s all old and we take some of it, and there’s 25 gold.
After this we have a rest in the emptied cave floor. We decide to scout a few tiles on the way back, getting into a few small fights before making our way back to the Anderson Farm and the road to safety.
